Acer Aspire Lite 14 – SSD Damage Due to Loose Hinge Screws Repaired

Issue Found:

  • Right hinge mounting screws came loose and were free inside the casing.

  • A screw made contact with electronic components, causing an electrical short.

  • One screw lodged under the M.2 SSD, causing severe damage to the SSD (beyond repair, all data lost).


Work Done:

  • Dismantled the laptop

  • Set hinge tension, cleaned, and lubricated hinges

  • Cleaned motherboard, connectors, CPU/GPU, heatsink, and fan

  • Applied new thermal paste to CPU/GPU

  • Cleaned M.2 connector, tested with new M.2 SSD

  • Installed new SSD, reloaded Windows and configured system

  • Final testing and full clean completed
